Blackfabric visits UNWIND 3D: joining forces between TFP & bidirectional fabrics
On July 10th, the Blackfabric commercial team had the pleasure of visiting UNWIND 3D during the open house event at their new industrial facility. This collaborative company produces carbon parts using TFP (Tailored Fiber Placement) technology.

Exploring the New Facilities
During the visit, the Blackfabric team, along with other clients and collaborators, toured UNWIND 3D’s new facilities. And had the opportunity to observe firsthand the advanced technology from ZSK, the manufacturer of state-of-the-art embroidery machinery. This experience allowed us to appreciate the high level of innovation and precision that characterizes our partners and how these technologies can complement Blackfabric products, as well as generate synergies with other partners who complement these technologies.
Compatibility and Added Value in Thermoplastic Composites
The visit highlighted the compatibility between Blackfabric’s fabrics and UNWIND 3D’s TFP technology. Blackfabric’s fabrics for thermoplastic composites integrate seamlessly with TFP technology, which allows the fibers to be placed only in necessary areas, eliminating waste and optimizing material use. This compatibility extends to carbon fibers, fiberglass threads, and various thermoplastic matrices that Blackfabric regularly works with. This synergy provides efficient and sustainable solutions, essential in the development of advanced thermoplastic composites.
